Agadir to Ouarzazate 17 to 19 November 2011

Summary BLOG - if you have more time, there are over 200 photos from this trip in the next blog

Rented a Dacia Logan car via Weekend Car Rental at 1800 hrs 16 November for 3 days (1290 Dhm).
Left the marina before 0800hrs and headed east towards Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara.

Had 3 very enjoyable days staying 2 nights at the Ibis Hotel in Ouarzazate
and exploring the region with its many Kasbars (fortified Mansions) and Ksars (Fortified villages)

including the Dades Gorge
and returning to Agadir via the pass between the High and Middle Atlas Mountains and Marrakech.

The last section of the trip was via the superb new toll road  (cost 66 Dhm)  fromMarrakech to Agadir which has a speed limit of 120 km/hr.

Arrived back in Agadir at 1600hrs 19 November

Drove to the top of the old Ksar on op of the hill overlooking the harbour of Agadir  for this panorama

before returning the car

Had a farewell to Agadir meal in the smart restaurant La Madrague just behind where the boat is moored

We plan to leave Agadir after lunch today for the 2 day sail to Lanzarote in the Canaries.

Grib files show that we should have a 10 to 20knot wind starting NNW then going via N to NNE - ie excellent if it materialises.

ETA Lanzarote sometime Tuesday 22 November in the morning
